Richard will share with you Medway’s Rich Heritage as well as Medway’s Great Future including Medway’s aspiration to become a Waterfront University City. With plans to build 29,000 new homes and create 17,000 new jobs by 2035, Medway offers many exciting new development opportunities. Richard will showcase the development proposals for key sites such as Rochester Riverside, Chatham Waterfront, Chatham Waters and Strood Riverside. 

Medway is building on its Rich Heritage and a Great Future to continue to establish Medway as a great place to live, work, learn and visit.

About Richard

Richard supports the delivery of the Council’s placemaking agenda, seeking to establish Medway as a great place to live, to work, to learn and to visit.

As Director, Richard’s role includes responsibility for Frontline Services, Physical and Cultural Regeneration and Transformation.

  • The Front Line Services division provides essential services for our customers and residents, such as Waste, Safer Communities, Highways and Transport.
  • The Transformation division is involved with all change projects across the Council, seeking to establish Medway as a smart city, fit for the future
  • The Physical and Cultural Regeneration division is key to delivering our ambitious regeneration programme and one of the largest free events and festivals programmes in the country.
